Richard Wagner was a German composer and conductor who lived from 1813 to 1883. He is considered one of the most important composers of the 19th century and is known for his operas, including works such as “Tristan und Isolde,” “Der Ring des Nibelungen” (The Ring Cycle), and “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” (The Mastersingers of Nuremberg).
Wagner had three children with his wife Cosima, the daughter of Franz Liszt and the widow of Wagner’s friend and collaborator, Hans von Bülow. Their children were:
Isolde (1865–1919)
Eva (1867–1942)
Siegfried (1869–1930)
Wagner also had two children from previous relationships. His son with actress and writer Marie de Flavigny was named Karl, born in 1853, but Wagner never publicly acknowledged him. Wagner also had a daughter named Natalie with his first wife Minna Planer, but she died in infancy.
Regarding the riddle from Imperial Russia times, placed in one of the ancient newspapers of that era, showing Wagner’s three daughters, can you find the old man Rheingold and answer why the artist hid Rheingold on the picture instead of Wagner?
