Small towns and villages all around the world have water pumping stations; modern advancements have removed the necessity for them. It is not in demand in our nation. Let’s look at the one and only known instance of a tower in Russia being transformed into a residential structure.
For 1.5 million rubles, Tomsk radio host Alexander Lunev purchased an emergency facility from the local administration. The tower has been there for more than a century and was previously rented out.
Nobody was interested in renovating the old structure, with the exception of Alexander, who was thrilled with the concept. The six-story, 25-meter tower features an observation deck with a view of the Siberian city below.
The first four stories have one meter thick brick walls. The tower then gets bigger. The buyer had to get a loan and make significant remodeling investments, such as tearing down walls and fixing the roof.
However, there weren’t enough resources. The radio host believed that luring investors in would be the only way to get the tower back in working order. Much information regarding Lunev’s work on the renovation since 2012 may be seen online, including in his personal journal.
Despite the owner’s unfortunate bankruptcy, he still harbors dreams of receiving financing from sponsors. On the topic, progress has been made.
