This beautiful story happened in New Jersey, USA. There is a law there, that requires property owners to keep the aesthetic appeal of their houses by from time-to-time painting and repairing them as required.
But of course, financial constraints, aging, or health issues sometimes don’t let people do that. They are just not being able to follow and keep the law. This is what happened with Ann Glancy too, who is a senior teacher. For her, the reason of not being able to keep it was due to her advancing age.
The paint of her house had long faded and the property showed signs of neglect. At that time the nice granny was eceiving only a modest pension, which of course was not enough for Ann. She didn’t have the needed physical abilities to consistently care for her house too. So, she needed help.
This is where the most beautiful part of the story begins. As she was blessed by compassionate neighbors, they found the best solution for their neighbor. They decided to take action themselves and help the nice lady with the repairing of her house.
Ann later confessed that she felt embarrassed by their offer, but deep down she was the happiest to hear that suggestion. She forced her to accept their help as she didn’t have any other choice in that difficult situation. They gave her hope and a reason to smile again…
Neighbors pooled all their resources together and set about restoring Ann’s house so she wouldn’t worry about it anymore. They all put so much effort in that and it made the task pleasant and very efficient.
The hardworking and kind team managed to transform the house beyond recognition after some time. Everything was repaired, staring from the windows and ending with new boards that were used for siding.
The cost of the repairs would have been at least $10,000, a sum Ann could not afford for sure. The generous neighbors deserve our recognition and praise for covering all expenses. With their act, they demonstrated the power of community support and kindness in the best way possible.
